How do I add an RSS feed to my course in Moodle 2?

RSS (Rich Site Summary) is a format for delivering regularly changing web content. Many news-related sites, weblogs and other online publishers syndicate their content as an RSS Feed to whoever wants it.

You can add a feed to your Moodle course via the following steps:

1. Add the RSS block to your course via the “add a block” menu.

2. Click on the configure button on the newly-added block.

3. Click on the “add/edit feeds” link.

4. Click the “add a new feed” button.

5. Enter the URL of the RSS feed, then click add a new feed. (Note:You can find the URL most often by searching the name of the topic and then RSS. So if it’s the New Yorker RSS I am looking for, I just need to Google New Yorker RSS to find the name of the feed. The link of the RSS feed will always end in “.xml.”

How do I import course materials from one course to another in Moodle 2?

1. In the course that you would like to Import materials into, Select the “Import” link under the settings menu on the right hand side.

2. Select the course you would like to import FROM.

3. Choose what materials you would like to import.

4. Select which individual files you would like to include in the import.

5. If Including all, click the next button at the bottom of the page.

6. On the next page, confirm that all the materials are correct and click “Perform Import” at the bottom of the page.

7. Hit the “Continue” button. You will be directed to the original page you were importing in to.

How do I add another Instructor to my course in Moodle 2?

1. Under the Settings block, click on “Enrolled Users” under the Users tab.

2. In the top right hand corner of your users list, click on the “Enroll Users” button.

3. Make sure the role is set to “Teacher”. in the search box at the bottom, type in the name of the person you would like to add as an instructor and press enter.

4. Press the “Enroll” button next to that user’s name. When finished, hit the “Finish Enrolling Users” button on the bottom. Your users should now be added as an instructor.
